I just finished the second Charlie Bone book - Charlie Bone an the Time Twister.

This book is about time traveling, started by a marble in a game.

Somebody named Henry came from 1916 to Charlie's time.

This is now the biggest book I ever read - 402 pages. It is one more page than the first one.

The time twister is a marble filled with colors and is big and shiny.

My Biggest Book Ever!

This is the longest book I ever read - Midnight for Charlie Bone.

It has 401 pages. I read it in two and a half days.

It was about a 10 year-old boy named Charlie Bone who went to Bloor's Academy for gifted children.

His special power was that he could hear things from people in photographs.

Bloor's Academy is like Hogwarts from Harry Potter!

Thanks!

I want to thank everybody who has been ordering through the Amazon ads on my site and my Dad's site.

So far my commission for this month is already around $50.

Since I earn 6% of all orders, that means $50 is 6% of the total.

X = total

.06 · X = 50

Divide both sides by .06

X = 50 / (.06)

X = 833.33

So the total spent through my ads this month is about $833.

Thanks so much!

    Andrew Jackson

Today I just read a short biography about Andrew Jackson.

He was born in 1767 in the Waxhaw region - which is near where I was born, Charlotte, NC.

Andrew joined the army during the Revolutionary War when he was only 13.

His Dad died before he was born, and the rest of his family died during the War.

Even though he was an orphan he went on to do many great things.

And he became the 7th President of the United States.

    He's my father's favorite President!

    Pumpkins for Sale!

To make my pumpkin sale I had to :

    • make the signs
    • buy 15 pumpkins
    • price them
    • set up the stand
    • hang up the signs
      I sold 10 of them.

My first customer took 2 little ones for $4 each.

My second customer took 1 large pumpkin for $12.

After the sale, our neighbors bought one, then Uncle Fred, and then Nana. And we kept 2 for ourselves.  Altogether we have $114 from all the pumpkins we sold, but we had to spend $90 to buy the pumpkins and make the signs.  We made $24. Next year I'm going to grow my own pumpkins!

      Rubbery Egg

      From this book:

In the Chemistry section, I did Experiment 196 - Rubbery Egg.

I put an egg in vinegar in a glass, and I waited several days.

Today we went to see the egg.  We took it out and it felt rubbery.

      Here's the explanation:

The vinegar reacts with the calcium in the eggshell, dissolving it. This makes the shell rubbery. This shows the importance of calcium to make the shell strong, just like the calcium in are bones.Keep drinking that milk!
I don't know how but the vinegar must have done something to the calcium in the shell!

      Ooze And Slime

      My Fishing Trip

Yesterday was my Cub Scout fishing trip. I went with Dad.

I woke up at 6:00 in the morning to get ready!

      My bait was clams.

I was on a boat on the ocean.

I put the bait on the hook. Then we threw the fishing line in the water.

Then we waited. That's how you go fishing. Some people caught crabs in the beginning.

It was hard to catch fish.

But by the end I had caught 5 fish. They were baby sea bass.

I ate a lot of Munchkins which are little donuts. You can see some on your face.

      It was fun.

      I Like Building

I built this car. I made it out of screws and nuts.  This is my second Erector set. It had 2 models. It took a long time to finish. My Dad helped me.

You can buy it on Amazon here:

      Erector Tuning Truck, 147 Parts

The hard part of this is tightening the nuts. You have to hold the hexagonal wrench and spin the other wrench.
